HELLO AND WELCOME, EVERYONE!

Hi there! Welcome to my blog! My name is Suko. I am an English teacher at the State Polytechnic of Semarang and I have been teaching in this school since 1987. I am here to help you learn English. I notice that learning English has not been easy for everyone. So let us make learning English fun and easy.

Many people have been asking these questions all the time: What is the best and easiest way to learn English? or What is the most effective way of learning English? Which aspect(s) of the language should we learn first?

The above questions are not easy to answer. One of the reasons is that different people prefer different ways of learning; in other words, they have different learning styles. One method may be effective for some people but may not be so effective for some others. Another reason is that it is not always easy to identify what we are going to learn; in other words, many people do not have a specific purpose for learning English.

So, one suggestion for you is this: Identify your learning style and learn English according to your preference or your learning style. In this way, you will enjoy your learning. Another suggestion is this: Start learning by setting a clear goal. A goal is something that you are going to achieve. This will give you a sense of achievement. Once you achieve your goal, set a new goal and go for that new goal, etc. By doing so, you will feel that you are making progress.

One last suggestion, start with something that is easy and useful for you. There is no point in learning anything that you do not feel useful because you will have no motivation in doing so. Starting with something difficult may also lessen your motivation, so start with something easy.

I deliberately divide this blog into different pages (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing, etc.) so that you will be able to find what you need to learn more easily although some learning materials may well fit into more than one page. This is purely a matter of simplicity in appearance! Links to other pages will be provided when necessary of course.

Well, I hope this blog will be a good place for you to learn English. I encourage you to post suggestion, comments or questions so that I know what it is that works best for you.
